This offering from Carlos Lemus starts off with fruity notes with soft herbal undertones that remind us of wild blackberries. The cup then develops a soft and smooth sweetness similar to almond cookies and toffee. As the cup cools, a bright tropical fruit note comes forward that reminds us of guava jam. This is highly enjoyable cup to drink day after day.

Carlos Mauricio Lemus Landaverde is a young producer who inherited Finca Pena Redonda when his father, Jose Maria Lemus, passed away in a care accident. Carlos is following in his father’s and family’s footsteps with regards to quality. in 2017 he was awarded ninth place in El Salvador’s Cup of Excellence program.

Finca Pena Redonda is located in El Salvador’s Chalatenango region. It is the countries coolest and Northern most region. While coffee has been growing here for many years, the area really came into it’s own in 2007 when a coffee from here won the Cup of Excellence.
