Nasa is smooth and sweet with creamy almond notes and herbal undertones, highlighted by moments of beautifully clear citrus aromatics. Throughout the cup, from first aroma to last sip, we see the sweet and creamy notes of Amaretto liqueur and almond cake. Dancing above this we see a momentary flash of fresh citrus oils, somewhere between grapefruit zest and clementine. After this the cup picks up a herbal note of fresh sage that mellows into sweet tobacco leaf.

The Nasa people are indigenous to the Valle de Cauca. They see themselves as the stewards of nature and take that responsibility seriously. Their land has previously been under FARC control with the cultivation of illicit drugs, leaving deep scars throughout many communities.

The CENCOIC cooperative serves to represent the speakers of the Nasa Yuwe language to the international market. Coffee is their primary product and they see it as a tool for peace in Cauca. Based on common spiritual and community values, they grow coffee with respect to the integrity of the land and their surroundings, in accordance with their indigenous belief system.
